Terms and conditions

The main terms for booking and receiving driving tuition from ProPasser.

1. About these terms

These terms apply to driving tuition supplied by Jamie Steven Spedding trading as ProPasser. They should be read with the Privacy Policy. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot legally be excluded.

2. Learner responsibilities

  • You must hold a valid UK provisional or full driving licence appropriate for the tuition and produce it when reasonably requested.
  • You must be legally entitled, medically fit and sufficiently rested to drive. Tell ProPasser before a lesson if anything may affect safe driving.
  • You must follow reasonable safety instructions. A lesson may be stopped where continuing would be unsafe, unlawful or abusive.
  • You are responsible for keeping DVLA informed of any medical condition that must be declared.

3. Lessons and availability

ProPasser currently provides manual tuition. Lesson times are agreed individually and remain subject to instructor availability, traffic, weather, vehicle condition and other circumstances outside reasonable control. Home pick-up is usual; another suitable location may be agreed in advance.

4. Prices and payment

The current prices shown on the website apply when a booking is made. Payment is normally by bank transfer. Any block booking is a credit toward future lessons, not a guarantee of particular dates or a practical-test result.

5. Cancellation and rescheduling

Please give at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or move a lesson. With less than 24 hours’ notice, the lesson may be charged in full or the relevant credit deducted, reflecting the time reserved and the limited opportunity to rebook it. Where enough notice is given and the lesson is rearranged within the same week, no rescheduling charge is made, subject to availability.

If ProPasser must cancel a lesson, it will be rearranged or any amount paid for that lesson will be credited or refunded. ProPasser is not responsible for indirect losses such as time off work or test fees where cancellation results from breakdown, illness, unsafe weather or another event outside reasonable control.

6. Block-booking refunds and distance bookings

You may cancel an unused lesson block and receive a refund for unused credit, less the normal price of lessons already supplied and any lesson falling within the 24-hour cancellation period. If you book online, by phone or away from ProPasser’s business premises, statutory cancellation rights may also apply. If you ask for tuition to begin during a statutory cooling-off period, you agree that ProPasser may charge a proportionate amount for services supplied before cancellation. Refunds do not affect rights provided by law.

7. Practical tests and use of the tuition vehicle

Use of the tuition vehicle for a practical test is only available where Jamie considers you test-ready, safe and familiar with the vehicle. It is normally booked as a lesson of around two hours, depending on the test centre, and charged at the normal lesson rate unless agreed otherwise. ProPasser may decline or withdraw use of the vehicle where it would be unsafe or contrary to professional judgement.

You are responsible for booking the correct practical test, checking its details and meeting DVSA requirements. Lessons and test preparation cannot guarantee a pass.

8. Recordings and pass photographs

The tuition vehicle may use video and audio recording equipment for security, safety, incident evidence and the establishment or defence of legal claims. Recording is not used as a substitute for teaching and is handled as described in the Privacy Policy. Pass photographs or testimonials are only published with permission, which can be withdrawn for future use.

9. Conduct, damage and penalties

You must treat the instructor, vehicle and other road users respectfully. You remain responsible for offences or penalties attributable to your actions where the law places responsibility on you. ProPasser may end tuition for serious or repeated unsafe, unlawful, discriminatory, threatening or abusive behaviour.

10. Problems and complaints

Raise concerns as soon as possible so they can be considered fairly. Contact ProPasser at contact@propasser.co.uk or on 07737 886991.
